Son Charged With Murder in 2025 Death of 67-Year-Old Man in Dickinson

DICKINSON, Texas — A man has been charged with murder months after his father was found dead inside a Dickinson home, police said.

Officers responded around 12:56 p.m. on November 5, 2025, to a 911 call reporting a death in the 1700 block of East FM 517 Road. When they arrived, they found 67-year-old Kenneth Jackson Sr. deceased inside the residence.

Detectives with the Dickinson Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation that led to the identification of the victim’s son, 41-year-old Kenneth Kyle Jackson Jr., as the suspect.

Authorities said Jackson Jr. has been charged with murder. He was already in custody at the Galveston County Jail on a separate narcotics violation at the time the charge was filed. His bond has been set at $300,000.

The Dickinson Police Department credited the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab, and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office for assisting in the investigation.
