Social Media Video Leads to Arrest in El Paso Hit-and-Run Case

EL PASO, TX – In El Paso news, a hit-and-run crash late New Year’s Eve has led to an arrest after surveillance video of the incident circulated on social media.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 12900 block of Runway Avenue at approximately 10:51 p.m. on December 31, 2025, in reference to a hit-and-run involving an unattended vehicle. Deputies gathered initial information at the scene, including details about the suspect vehicle and possible driver.

The investigation gained momentum when video footage of the crash was posted to the social media account therealfitfamelpaso. The suspect was quickly identified by members of the community. Detectives followed up and confirmed the driver as 33-year-old Domonique Delgado.

“This case highlights the power of community involvement and responsible use of social media,” said El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte. “If you damage property or put others at risk, you will be held accountable.”

On January 2, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Delgado on a charge of Duty on Striking an Unattended Vehicle. Bond was set at $15,000. Delgado was later taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office credited quick public assistance and shared information for helping bring the case to a swift resolution.
