Shooting Leads to Fatality in Manor; APD Investigates Fourth Homicide of 2025

On Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 2:38 p.m., officers with the Austin Police Department responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle at 10525 Wildhorse Ranch Trail in Manor, TX. Initial reports indicated the vehicle had crashed into a fence and subsequently into a ditch, with additional calls suggesting the vehicle had been shot at.
Upon arrival, officers found two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. One victim, 19-year-old Victor Ekozeme, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was transported to the hospital and released the same day.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Preliminary findings revealed the victims had arrived at the apartment complex when unknown suspects began shooting at their car, striking both individuals. After being wounded, Ekozeme attempted to drive away from the scene but lost control of the vehicle due to his injuries. The suspects fled in a separate vehicle.
Authorities believe the victims were targeted, and the incident is considered isolated.
This case is being investigated as Austin’s fourth homicide of 2025.
