Shooting at Cricket Hollow Apartments: Austin Police Seek Public Assistance

On Friday, January 12, 2024, at approximately 7:54 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a shooting at the Cricket Hollow Apartments, located at 11441 N IH 35. Upon arrival, officers stopped a vehicle matching the description provided by 911 callers. Inside the vehicle, a passenger was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Cleiver Gamez-Santos, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 8:40 p.m. Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists were dispatched to process the scene.

Investigations revealed that Gamez-Santos had been shot within the apartment complex. The vehicle, with the victim inside, was intercepted by officers while in the process of leaving the scene.
