Shooting at Austin Apartments Claims Juvenile’s Life, Investigation Underway
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) Officers rushed to the Estates at East Riverside apartments situated at 1300 Crossing Place in response to a call reporting a shooting incident.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered a juvenile male with gunshot wounds. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) also arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance. However, despite their efforts, the juvenile succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
In the wake of this incident, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were dispatched to the location to process the scene and interview potential witnesses.
Authorities have identified a person of interest in connection to the case.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as law enforcement works diligently to piece together the events surrounding this unfortunate incident.
