Second Overdose This Week in Austin; Deputies Seize Fentanyl and Other Drugs

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Williamson County Organized Crime Unit responded to a suspected overdose death in the 16000 block of Terrance Dr., Austin, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of a 34-year-old female, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During a thorough search of the residence, detectives located and seized a variety of illegal substances, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, LSD, Xanax, and psilocybin mushrooms. These substances pose a severe threat to public health and safety.

This incident marks the second overdose death in the community this week. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is prioritizing this case and actively conducting an ongoing investigation to gather more information surrounding this incident. Authorities are urging members of the community to assist in efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and prevent further loss of life.
