Second Fatal Shooting Reported on Higgins Street Hours Apart in Southeast Houston

Houston police are investigating a second fatal shooting on Sunday, December 22, 2024, this time at an apartment complex located at 5145 Higgins Street, just a few blocks from an earlier incident on the same street.

Officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive male lying on the ground near an apartment. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Currently, no suspects or motives have been identified in this shooting.
