Road Repairs at Whitney Dam Bridge to Cause Delays
From April 17 to May 18, motorists traveling along State Highway 22 near Whitney Dam can expect delays due to road repairs. The US Army Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake has announced that repair work on the Whitney Dam bridge will necessitate traffic control measures.
The repairs will require travel to be limited to a single lane between Soldiers Bluff Park in Bosque County and Riverside Park in Hill County. This restriction will be in place from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week.
To ensure the safety of motorists, pilot trucks and flaggers will be employed to direct traffic during the repair period. However, significant delays are anticipated for those crossing the Whitney Dam on State Highway 22.
For commuters seeking alternative routes, FM 1409/1713 and FM 2114 are recommended as alternative routes across Whitney Lake or the Brazos River, respectively.
The Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake has expressed appreciation for the patience of the public as they work to maintain critical infrastructure.
