Road Rage Incident Leads to Aggravated Assault Arrest in Southwest Houston

On Wednesday, February 14, 2023, at around 4:03 PM, Deputy Langley from Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office responded to a road rage incident in the 5700 block of Underwood.

The victim reported that while driving southbound on Red Bluff Rd at Genoa Red Bluff Rd, another driver pulled up beside him and made an offensive gesture. The situation escalated as the suspect followed the victim and both came to a stop at a red light at the intersection of Red Bluff Rd and Underwood Rd. At this point, the suspect exited his vehicle, approached the victim’s car, and brandished a knife through the passenger window, causing damage to the victim’s vehicle before leaving the scene.

The suspect was later identified as 41-year-old Juan Carlos Flores, who had driven to a jobsite in the 5700 block of Underwood Rd. Deputy Langley apprehended Flores, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Following his arrest, Flores was taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bond was set at $15,000.
