Registered Sex Offender Arrested in Manvel ICAC Operation
MANVEL, Texas—A registered sex offender has been arrested on multiple felony charges, including possession of child pornography depicting sexual assault, following a raid conducted by the Manvel Police Department and the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
On September 25, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence located at 4811 Old Chocolate Bayou Road. The investigation was initiated after CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicated that Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) had been uploaded using online accounts linked to the Manvel address.
Detectives arrested John Triplett, 44, a Registered Sex Offender residing at the location. He faces the following charges:
- Four (4) counts of Possession of Child Pornography depicting Sexual Assault of a Child (First-Degree Felony)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2 (Second-Degree Felony)
- Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements
Investigators seized multiple digital devices for forensic examination, as well as a quantity of suspected controlled substances. Additional charges may be filed pending the review of the evidence.
