Pedestrian Killed in East Saint John’s Avenue Crash in Austin
In the afternoon of Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 2:27 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and an unidentified pedestrian in the 800 block of East Saint John’s Avenue.
Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, who was unharmed and not under the influence, is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
This incident marks Austin’s 81st fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 84 fatalities for the year. To provide context, on the corresponding date in 2022, 100 fatal crashes occurred, leading to 104 deaths.
