Pearland Police Apprehend Repeat Vehicle Burglary Suspect Using Flock Alert

Pearland, TX – On October 16, 2025, at approximately 12:14 a.m., Pearland Police Officers received a Flock Safety Alert indicating that a known Burglary of Motor Vehicle (BMV) suspect had entered the city near the 14500 block of South Freeway (SH 288 South). The suspect, known for targeting vehicles at local businesses, was quickly located by a night shift patrol officer in the 13900 block of South Freeway.

The officer observed the suspect park between two vehicles, exit, and force entry into one vehicle before attempting to enter another that was unlocked. Additional officers arrived and strategically surrounded the suspect’s vehicle to prevent a potential pursuit. The suspect initially tried to reverse but stopped when realizing all exits were blocked. Despite repeated verbal commands, he refused to exit the vehicle.

To gain compliance, officers deployed a Byrna Pepper Ball Gun through the driver-side window. The suspect opened the door to get fresh air but continued to resist until officers pulled him from the vehicle and took him into custody without further incident. The suspect was not injured and only experienced the temporary effects of the Byrna deployment.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Jarve Dean of Houston. He was charged with Burglary of Vehicles – With Two or More Previous Convictions, a state jail felony.

This incident highlights the effectiveness of technology-assisted policing and the dedication of Pearland officers in preventing ongoing property crimes. Authorities remind residents to always lock their vehicles and remove valuables to reduce the risk of theft.
