PASADENA, TX — A woman has been charged with murder after allegedly striking and killing her husband with her vehicle early Sunday morning.

On October 19, 2025, at around 3:28 a.m., Pasadena Police officers were called to the 3100 block of Red Bluff Road after reports that a black Tahoe had hit a pedestrian and fled the scene.

When officers arrived, they found 42-year-old Leonardo Mendoza with severe injuries on or near the sidewalk. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, where he later died.

Detectives with the Pasadena Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit determined that Mendoza and his wife, 36-year-old Alina Gonzalez-Morelos, had been arguing at their home shortly before the crash. Mendoza reportedly left the residence on foot, and investigators believe Gonzalez-Morelos followed him in her vehicle before intentionally hitting him.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has filed a murder charge against Gonzalez-Morelos. She is currently in custody at the Pasadena Police Department and awaiting transfer to the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
