Pasadena Police Shoot Suspect After Gunfire During 911 Disturbance Call

On August 1, 2024, at approximately 11:40 pm, Pasadena Police Department night shift officers were dispatched to a house in the 4400 block of Cypress Pond Ct for an open 911 line with a disturbance heard by call takers and a possible assault occurring.

Officers were informed that a possible resident had a previous history involving a firearm with the department. They began arriving on the scene at approximately 11:51 pm. Upon arrival, officers were approached by a female who appeared to have been assaulted by the male suspect inside the house.

Using a shield, officers approached the house but were met with gunfire from the male suspect, causing them to retreat. One officer fired his gun, striking the suspect at least once in the abdomen. Several rounds from the suspect’s gun struck close to the officers, and at least one round hit the shield held by an officer.

The Pasadena Police SWAT team was called in and approached the front of the house, where they observed the male suspect on the ground with a gun nearby. Officers approached, gained custody of the suspect, secured the scene, and allowed ambulance personnel to render aid. The suspect was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for further medical treatment.

The Pasadena Police Department and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office are on the scene conducting a further investigation.
