Orleans Parish Jail Escapees Apprehended in Huntsville After High-Speed Chase

In a significant multi-agency operation, the Huntsville Police Department has apprehended two of the remaining escapees from the Orleans Parish jail who broke out on May 15th. Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald were arrested on May 26th after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through the Huntsville area.

The pursuit concluded near US 190 and Geneva, where both individuals were taken into custody.

Jermaine Donald faces outstanding warrants for Escape and Resisting an Officer. His original charges include Illegal Carrying a Weapon and Second-Degree Murder. Leo Tate has been charged with outstanding warrants for Aggravated Escape and Escape from Custody; he was originally in custody for Obstruction of Justice.

Both Donald and Tate have been transported to the Walker County Jail for processing. Chief Slaven extended his gratitude to all agencies involved for their assistance in taking these dangerous suspects into custody.
