One Woman Killed, Two Injured After High-Speed Crash at 42nd and Andrews Highway

ODESSA, TX – A late-night collision at a busy Odessa intersection left one woman dead and two others injured Monday, December 8.
Police were called to the scene around 11:09 p.m. at 42nd Street and Andrews Highway. Investigators say a blue Ford Mustang driven by 21-year-old Nathan Montoya was headed east on 42nd Street when a white Mazda MPV, driven by 39-year-old Nalleli Waldron, entered the intersection at a high rate of speed and ran a red light.
The Mazda struck the Mustang, causing severe damage.
Waldron was rushed to Medical Center Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her family has been notified. A passenger in the Mazda, 47-year-old Frederick Rodriguez, was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Montoya suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
