Angleton Police are investigating an early-morning burglary at Tom’s Pawn after officers chased down suspects seen on surveillance cameras stealing firearms and other items before fleeing in a car.

The incident began on December 8 around 2:50 a.m., when dispatchers received a call reporting that three men dressed in black were inside the gun section of Tom’s Pawn and were attempting to leave the store. The caller also reported that the men got into a black four-door vehicle and headed toward State Highway 288.

An Angleton officer spotted a black Nissan Altima matching that description shortly after the call and tried to stop it. The driver refused to pull over, prompting a pursuit that continued with support from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, which deployed a K9 team and drone units.

Officers were able to use a tire deflation device to disable the vehicle near State Highway 288 and County Road 60. All three suspects ran from the car, leading officers to set up a perimeter and search the area.

Police located and arrested 21-year-old Caden Dejuan Johnson of Richmond, TX. He was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, with a bond set at 25,000 dollars, and burglary of a building, with a bond set at $50,000. Authorities also learned he had an outstanding robbery warrant out of Austin (Travis County).

Inside the Altima, officers found several firearms, gaming systems, and electronic devices believed to have been stolen from Tom’s Pawn. The vehicle was impounded, and two suspects remain at large.

The investigation is ongoing. Angleton Police thanked assisting partner agencies for their help in the search and arrest.
