One Dead After Vehicular Crash on FM 529 in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on FM 529, resulting in the death of one person. The crash involved a Ram 1500 pickup and a Dodge Charger.
On Tuesday, August 5, deputies responded to the scene at 12200 FM 529, where they found the Dodge Charger flipped onto its roof and the driver partially ejected from the vehicle. The driver, the sole occupant of the Charger, was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare-Cypress Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division determined that the Ram 1500, which was traveling westbound, failed to yield the right of way while turning left into a business parking lot, causing it to collide with the eastbound Dodge Charger.
The driver of the Ram 1500, who suffered minor injuries, did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. The identity of the deceased has not been released. The case remains under investigation.
