One Arrested in October Shooting Incident in Fort Bend County That Left Teen Dead

In the evening hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a shooting incident in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 8600 block of FM 1464 Rd, Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas. The incident resulted in the death of a 17-year-old male and left an adult female with gunshot injuries.

Upon their arrival at approximately 7:24 pm, deputies discovered the lifeless body of the 17-year-old victim who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. The adult female victim, also shot during the incident, was transported to the Houston Medical Center.

According to information gathered during the investigation, a suspect vehicle approached the victims’ vehicle, with the assailant firing shots at both victims before fleeing the scene.

As the investigation unfolded, law enforcement identified one of the suspects as Jahlil Rainey, a 19-year-old male from Houston, Texas. Rainey was apprehended on October 31, 2023, on a Murder Warrant carrying a bond of $750,000.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the identities of additional suspects involved in the incident to come forward.
