Murder Suspect Wanted in Louisiana Arrested in Southeast Texas

BEAUMONT, Texas — A man wanted for murder in Louisiana was arrested Friday following a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
Detectives with the department’s Special Services Division assisted the U.S. Marshals Service and members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force in locating the suspect on March 27, 2026.
Investigators developed information that the suspect was in Beaumont and began coordinating a plan to take him into custody. Authorities initiated mobile surveillance after the suspect left the location.
A traffic stop was later conducted in Chambers County with assistance from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Tyren Scott, was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers said he was found in possession of an AR-style pistol.
Scott was arrested on the outstanding murder warrant and will be processed accordingly.
Officials credited the coordinated efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office for safely apprehending the suspect.
