Murder Suspect Arrested Months After Man Found Shot Inside Brays Oaks Home

HOUSTON – A 23-year-old man has been arrested on a murder charge nearly five months after a man was found fatally shot inside a home in Houston’s Brays Oaks area.

Guztavo Arizmendi, 23, is charged with murder in the 338th Criminal District Court in connection with the death of Michel Luis Badia-Cremadichi, 50. Badia-Cremadichi was a native of Cuba and left behind a wife, two sons, two step-children and nine grand-children.

Houston Police officers responded around 9:55 p.m. April 28 to a shooting at a residence in the 6300 block of Ludington Drive.

Officers found Badia-Cremadichi suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a doorway inside the home. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators said two masked, armed suspects entered the residence and were later seen fleeing on foot. Preliminary information indicated Badia-Cremadichi may have known the suspects, according to police.

The investigation eventually identified Arizmendi as a suspect. Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force arrested him Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Police have not disclosed what led investigators to Arizmendi or released information about the identity of the second suspect described in the initial investigation.
