Murder-Suicide Investigated After Male Suspect Found Deceased in Louisiana, Female Victim Found Dead in Lake Houston Area

Houston police are currently investigating a suspected murder-suicide incident after a male suspect was discovered deceased in Louisiana and a female victim was found dead at a residence in the Lake Houston area.

The incident unfolded around 1:05 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, when authorities responded to a residence at 24506 Fir Ridge Court. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of a 28-year-old female victim. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed, pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Meanwhile, officers in Louisiana informed Houston homicide detectives that a male suspect had fatally shot himself in their jurisdiction. Prior to taking his own life, the suspect had confessed to his family members that he had killed his girlfriend in her Houston home and had locked her son in a closet.

Responding officers quickly located the child, aged 2, inside a bedroom of the residence in Houston. The child, who showed no visible injuries, was transported to an area hospital and is reported to be in good condition.

Subsequent investigations revealed the deceased woman had suffered multiple injuries, including beatings and stab wounds. Autopsy results are pending to confirm the exact cause of death.

The identities of both the victim and the suspect, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, are yet to be officially confirmed.
