Motorcyclist Leads Deputies on Pursuit Along SH-249, Caught with Loaded Firearm
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the 17100 block of State Highway 249. The driver refused to stop, initiating a brief pursuit at high speeds. Deputies called in backup and air support responded to track the motorcycle.
With assistance from DPS Air Support and Texas State Troopers, the suspect was safely apprehended and identified as 28-year-old Anthony Godfrey. Additionally, deputies found him in possession of a loaded firearm.
Godfrey was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $10,000.00 by the 497th District Court.
