Motorcycle Collision with Ram Truck Results in Arrest, Stolen Vehicle Discovery
Brandon Victor Shepherd

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the El Paso Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in the 4700 block of N. Mesa. Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2022 Ram truck, driven by 22-year-old Brandon Victor Shepherd of El Paso, was traveling northbound. At the same time, a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by 38-year-old Kyle Leonard Calverly of El Paso, was traveling southbound and approaching the intersection with Castellano.

As the Ram truck turned onto Castellano, it entered the path of the motorcycle, causing the rider to be dislodged from the bike. The truck then struck part of the Angry Owl business. Shepherd, who had two passengers in the truck, was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on multiple offenses, including a red-light violation. Investigators also discovered that the Suzuki motorcycle had previously been reported stolen.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
