Mother’s Day Eve Turns Deadly in Family Shooting

What was intended to be a pleasant outing for Mother’s Day ended in tragedy Saturday evening when a man was fatally shot, allegedly by his step-brother.
On Saturday, May 10th, at approximately 7:30 pm, deputies with Precinct 4 of the Harris County Constable’s Office responded to a call for service at a residence in the 700 block of N. Vista Drive, near the North Freeway and E. Richey.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male, identified as 32-year-old Eduardo Alfaro Jr., with multiple gunshot wounds. Alfaro was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) units responded to conduct an investigation. Authorities learned that Eduardo Alfaro Jr. had gone to the residence to take his mother out in celebration of Mother’s Day.
At the residence, Eduardo encountered his 50-year-old step-brother, Charles Storey, who was reportedly in the midst of a drinking binge. An argument allegedly erupted between the two men while their mother was also present in the home. Investigators believe that Storey shot and killed his step-brother during this altercation.
Charles Storey was found at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder. Storey has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
