Montgomery County Officers Apprehend Suspect in Doorstep Package Thefts: Over 100 Stolen Personal Documents Recovered

On November 14, 2023, around 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office West Precinct District 5 Patrol Division received numerous reports of packages being stolen from doorsteps in the vicinity of the 18000 block of Crescent Trails Circle in Montgomery, Texas.

Promptly responding to the calls, deputies initiated an investigation and reviewed surveillance footage from the neighborhood. The suspect was identified as driving a white Jeep Renegade. In their search, deputies located a vehicle matching the description at a nearby gas station. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as 44-year-old Peter Collins-Delutis from Cleveland, Texas, deputies discovered multiple packages with address labels matching those of the victims.

A search of the vehicle yielded over 100 personal identifying documents believed to be stolen from various individuals. District 5 Detectives are actively working to identify multiple victims, with efforts ongoing to uncover any additional potential victims.

Peter Collins-Delutis was taken into custody on charges including multiple felonies for theft, fraudulent possession of identifying information, possession of a controlled substance, and an existing felony warrant. He is presently held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $145,000 bond.
