Man Wanted for Crimes Against Children Arrested After Fleeing and Firing at Officers in Multi-County Pursuit

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – A Montgomery County Pct. 2 Constable detective, working with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, identified Raul Alcantaria, 29, of Cleveland, Texas, as a suspect in an Online Solicitation of a Minor investigation. His arrest on July 25, 2025, followed a high-speed pursuit and a dangerous confrontation where he allegedly fired at law enforcement officers.

When deputies with Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable attempted to take Alcantaria into custody, he fled in a vehicle, initiating a pursuit that extended into Liberty County. Upon eventually stopping, Alcantaria reportedly fled on foot and discharged a firearm at law enforcement officers on the scene. Fortunately, no officers or innocent bystanders were injured during the incident.

Alcantaria was ultimately apprehended and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. He has been booked on charges including Online Solicitation of a Minor, Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, Assault on a Public Servant, and an outstanding warrant. Additional charges are expected from Liberty and San Jacinto Counties.

Constable David Eason expressed gratitude for the coordinated efforts, stating, “We are thankful for the swift action and collaboration between our detectives and our partner agencies. This was a dangerous situation that could have ended much differently. Their professionalism and teamwork ensured everyone made it home safely.”
