Man Shot and Killed After Assaulting Bus Driver on Antoine Drive in Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the 5300 block of Antoine Drive in the Central Northwest area.
Officers with the HPD Homicide Division say the incident began when a man boarded a bus at the location. The bus driver, who recognized the man from a prior disturbance, refused to provide a ride. A Black female passenger exited the bus and remained standing near the entrance.
The man then reportedly assaulted the bus driver and fled the vehicle. As he ran away, the female removed a pistol from her waistband and fired multiple shots, striking the man. She then fled the scene on foot.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
