CONROE, Texas – A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to decades in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges stemming from an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation and a violent attempt to evade arrest.

Raul Alcantaria, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant and one count of online solicitation of a minor. He was sentenced on March 17, 2026, in the 435th District Court by Judge Patty McGinnis.

Alcantaria received 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for each aggravated assault charge and 10 years for the solicitation charge. All sentences will run concurrently.

The case began on July 24, 2025, during an ICAC Task Force operation. Authorities said Alcantaria contacted an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl on a social media platform. Over the next 24 hours, he engaged in explicit communications and arranged to meet the individual in New Caney.

On July 25, 2025, Alcantaria arrived at the designated meeting location at an apartment complex, where officers attempted to take him into custody. Investigators said he drove directly at a detective before fleeing, initiating a multi-county pursuit.

The chase spanned approximately 68 miles across Montgomery, Liberty, and San Jacinto counties. Authorities said Alcantaria reached speeds near 120 miles per hour, ran multiple red lights, and drove through crowded areas, creating significant danger.

During the pursuit, a sergeant with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office was injured while deploying spike strips.

The pursuit ended on a dead-end road in Shepherd, where Alcantaria exited his vehicle and fired multiple rounds at a Liberty County Sheriff’s deputy and a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper before fleeing into a wooded area.

He was later located by drone about 200 feet into the tree line and, after K9 announcements, surrendered without further incident.

Authorities recovered a handgun and magazine in the wooded area, along with a rifle from a residence connected to Alcantaria.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Prosecutor Chris Seufert with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office ICAC Task Force.

“This case reflects both the intent to exploit a child and the willingness to endanger an entire community to avoid consequences. We will not tolerate either,” said Chief Prosecutor Chris Seufert.
