Man Sentenced to 20 Years for 2024 La Marque Murder of Teen

Jevon Moore, 20, has been sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after a jury found him guilty of the 2024 murder of 19-year-old Aemen Mouton. The sentencing occurred on June 12, 2025.
The homicide took place on January 30, 2024, in the 2300 block of Rosalee in La Marque. La Marque Police Department (LMPD) officers responded to an apartment complex on Rosalee Street at approximately 2:20 p.m., where they discovered Aemen Mouton, 19, of La Marque, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. First responders transported Mouton to HCA Houston Health Mainland Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
During the initial investigation at the scene, officers received information that the perpetrator was still on location. LMPD officers located Jevon Moore, who was 19 at the time of the shooting and from Hitchcock. He was subsequently charged with murder by LMPD Detectives later that night.
The La Marque Police Department extended its gratitude to its officers, investigators, and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office for their dedicated work in bringing justice to the victim and their family.
