Man Killed, Another Injured After Ambush Shooting Near West Harris County Motel

One man is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting late Saturday night in west Harris County.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to an in-progress life-in-danger call around 11:15 p.m. on May 31, 2025, at a business center located in the 4200 block of State Highway 6 North. Upon arrival, deputies found two male gunshot victims inside a small four-door sedan.

One of the victims, believed to be approximately 26 years old, was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, approximately 31 years old, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center with gunshot injuries. His current condition has not been released.

The vehicle’s driver, who was not injured, told deputies that he and the two victims had been at a motel about a mile away in the 16100 block of Timber Creek Lane when a masked man dressed in all black exited a dark-colored Ford Bronco and began shooting into their car. The driver said he fled the scene and drove to the nearby business park to call for help.

Deputies later responded to the motel and found evidence of the shooting at that location.

The HCSO Homicide and Crime Scene Units are leading the investigation. No suspects have been identified, and no motive has been determined at this time.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
