Man Found Asleep Behind the Wheel Arrested for DWI in Spring

Deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a single motor vehicle crash in the 6700 block of Spring Stuebner in Spring on January 17, 2024. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle with a male driver asleep behind the wheel.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Armando Monterrosa-Mendez, displayed multiple signs of intoxication when awakened by deputies. Despite being asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Monterrosa-Mendez refused and declined to provide a specimen of breath or blood.
Constable Deputies obtained a warrant for a blood specimen, leading to the arrest of Armando Monterrosa-Mendez. He was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Monterrosa-Mendez’s bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 16.
