Charges have been filed against the suspect involved in a fatal crash that occurred at 2801 Tidwell Road around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 8.

Frankie Leroy Washington, 32, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 263rd State District Court. The identity of the deceased man, aged 36, is awaiting verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The incident took place when Washington, the driver of a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound in the 9500 block of Jensen Drive.

The pickup truck struck a METRO sign and continued south through the intersection of Tidwell Road, eventually hitting a curb on the west side of Jensen and a wooden light pole. The impact caused the pickup truck to roll multiple times, eventually coming to rest upside down.

The male passenger, whose identity is pending confirmation, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old female passenger, also in the vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities determined that Washington was impaired at the time of the crash. Consequently, he has been charged in connection with the incident.
