Man Arrested in Tyler County for Houston Murder Months After Shooting

Sean Donte Bullard, 26, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Nicholas Batiste in May 2024.

Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 5899 Bellfort Avenue at approximately 4:20 a.m. on May 22, 2024, and found Batiste unresponsive on a sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At the time, there was no known motive or suspect.

Following a months-long investigation, HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective V. Nguyen identified Bullard as the suspect. He was arrested on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Tyler County, Texas, by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force with assistance from the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office.

Bullard is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court.
