Man Arrested for Fatal Crash on Hempstead Highway, Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter

Houston police have arrested 52-year-old Terrell Juan Twitty, who is charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal crash on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Hempstead Highway.
Twitty was driving a black Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound at a high rate of speed when he struck a white Ford F-150 that was pulling out of a parking lot and crossing into the westbound lanes to head eastbound. The impact caused both vehicles to be pushed into the eastbound lanes.
The driver of the Ford F-150 was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Twitty was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and displayed signs of intoxication. After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s office, he was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
