Man Arrested for Burglarizing 42 Vehicles, Including Police Car, in Harris County

Harris County Precinct 8 Investigators arrested a burglary suspect this week following an extensive investigation. The suspect was linked to multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred on August 9, 2024, at the Caroline Apartments in the 1200 block of E Nasa Parkway. A total of 42 vehicles were burglarized, including a marked Precinct 8 patrol vehicle.
Investigators identified 23-year-old Dalen Traell Bright as the suspect and subsequently obtained a search warrant for his residence, along with arrest warrants for Burglary of Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief. On August 27, 2024, members of the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division and Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Bright’s residence in the 700 block of Preston Avenue in Pasadena. During the search, deputies discovered a handgun, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales and distribution. Additional stolen items, including police equipment, were also recovered.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Bright’s vehicle, where he was arrested on the active warrants. A search of the vehicle yielded a black mask and several tools used for breaking car windows.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted additional charges against Bright for Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Criminal Instrument, though theft charges related to the stolen property were declined. Bright was taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bonds were set at a total of $40,100. He was later released on a personal bond.
