Man Arrested After Assaulting Elderly Parents, Barricading Himself in Magnolia Home

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Magnolia man on March 7, 2025, after he assaulted his elderly parents and barricaded himself inside their home.
Authorities responded at approximately 10:09 a.m. to a family violence call at a residence in the 900 block of Westwood North Drive. Upon arrival, deputies found the victims, a 73-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, outside the home. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Charles Sinclair, retreated inside and refused to surrender.
Due to the severity of the incident, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office activated its Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) personnel. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were also dispatched to assist.
After negotiations, Sinclair was taken into custody without further incident. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury-Family Violence and Injury to the Elderly.
The female victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, while the male victim was treated at the scene and released.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the incident.
