Major Crash Unit Investigating Fatal Collision in North Lubbock
The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal collision in North Lubbock.
Officers were called to the 3000 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway at 6:53 a.m. April 23rd in reference to a single-vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival, officers were informed by firefighters that 49-year-old Alethea Henderson had been transported by EMS to University Medical Center with serious injuries. Henderson later died of her injuries at the hospital.
Throughout the initial course of the investigation, it appears Henderson was driving west in a Chevrolet Malibu when the vehicle veered right, striking a guardrail before it veered back to the left and collided with the center concrete median.
The investigation is ongoing.
