League City Police Arrest Two After High-Speed Chase of Stolen Camaro Ends in Crash

On June 17, 2025, at approximately 8:14 p.m., League City Police Officers arrested 19-year-old Ayden Williams of Houston and 18-year-old Tyreq Lazare of Texas City following a high-speed chase involving a stolen yellow Chevy Camaro.

The chase began when the League City Department received an alert from the Flock Safety system about the stolen Camaro traveling eastbound on West League City Parkway near West Walker Street. K9 Officer Ramirez located the vehicle and followed it south on State Highway 3, waiting for backup before initiating a felony stop.

At the intersection of Olive Avenue and Hill Avenue, the Camaro came to a stop, but the occupants failed to comply with commands to exit and fled south on Hill Avenue toward East FM 646. The Camaro struck the rear quarter panel of a Ford F-350 towing a cargo trailer. The driver of the F-350 was unharmed.

Williams and Lazare exited the Camaro and ran on foot. Officers pursued Williams, who jumped a fence before being safely apprehended using a taser. K9 Rex was deployed to track Lazare through a wooded area, leading to his arrest without further incident.

Williams was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle with Previous Convictions and held on a $30,000 bond. Lazare was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot and held on a $2,500 bond.
