League City Man Arrested for Fatally Shooting His Father

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at approximately 7:23 p.m., the League City Police Department (LCPD) received multiple calls reporting gunshots in the 2900 block of Paisley Meadow Drive. Callers indicated that screaming could be heard in the background. LCPD officers, including several SWAT members who were at a nearby event, responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a residence where the gunshots originated. They made an urgent entry into the house to ensure safety and found an armed adult male in the backyard, alongside a deceased male. The armed male was taken into custody, and the other male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Raymond Jeremiah Stoney, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his father, 67-year-old Raymond Stoney. The bond for the murder charge has been set at $250,000.
