League City Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at approximately 3:17 a.m., League City Police Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 2200 block of Beacon Cir. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 22-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.
League City Fire Department’s EMS Division arrived and provided medical treatment to the victim. Subsequently, the victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital for further care. At the hospital, the victim, who was conscious, cooperated with officers.
Two witnesses accompanying the victim at the scene identified 26-year-old Irkan Notta, a resident of League City, as the alleged shooter. According to the witnesses, Notta fired 1-2 shots from a handgun into the victim’s pickup truck as they were attempting to leave the area, resulting in one round striking the victim.
League City Police Officers, acting on the provided description, located Notta on foot near the scene. He was taken into custody without incident and has been cooperating with investigators throughout the ongoing inquiry.
