LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A League City man was arrested Sunday night following an armed road rage incident that escalated onto Interstate 45, police said.

Joshua Leslie, 24, faces a felony charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, along with misdemeanor charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon. His bonds were set at $40,000 for the felony charge, $1,500 for DWI, and $2,500 for the weapons charge.

According to the League City Police Department, officers were called around 9:20 p.m. on April 5 to a reported rolling disturbance in the 100–200 block of South Gulf Freeway. The victim told police that Leslie, driving a black Chevrolet Silverado, began yelling at him in a Crunch Fitness parking lot before pointing a handgun and following his vehicle.

Police said the situation escalated as Leslie pursued the victim onto the freeway and into the parking lot of a Shell Timewise gas station, where he again exited his vehicle and pointed the firearm.

Officers later located both vehicles entering the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 and conducted a high-risk traffic stop near the 21000 block in Webster.

During the stop, Leslie was initially non-compliant and moved toward the edge of an overpass. Officers deployed a Taser to gain compliance and took him into custody without further incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed three handguns, one shotgun, and multiple boxes and loose ammunition, according to police.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the League City Police Department at 281-332-2566.
