League City Man Arrested After Armed Disturbance Involving Children

League City, TX – League City Police have arrested 34-year-old Jamane Herod on multiple felony charges after an armed disturbance involving his family on Saturday evening.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of Golden Sails Drive around 5:37 p.m. after a caller reported an argument and gunshots outside a home. When officers arrived, they spoke with a woman who said her husband, Herod, had fired a shot outside during the dispute and was still inside the residence with their children.
Police made contact with Herod, who came to the door holding a child and with a pistol holstered on his hip. He refused officers’ commands and retreated back into the home, prompting concern for the safety of the children.
The Combined Agency Response Team (CART) — a regional tactical and negotiation group made up of personnel from League City, Pearland, Alvin and Webster — was called to the scene. Negotiators established communication with Herod, who eventually agreed to come out unarmed. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Investigators confirmed that the mother and all children were unharmed.
Herod is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (bond set at $100,000), Unlawful Restraint ($20,000 bond), and four counts of Unlawful Restraint of a Child under 17 (each carrying a $20,000 bond).
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the League City Police Department at 281-332-2566.
