On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 5:04 p.m., La Porte Police Officers responded to a report of a possible assault in the 2100 block of N 146.

Upon arrival, officers met with a Port of Houston Police Officer who reported witnessing a woman run into the roadway and flag him down. The woman told the Port Police Officer that her boyfriend had assaulted her. The male suspect was still on the scene and was detained by the Port Police Officer.

La Porte officers spoke with the woman, observing a red mark on the right side of her face, bruising on both wrists, and a bruise on her left thigh. She told officers the assault occurred earlier in the day in the 100 block of N 76th Street in Houston. She reported that the incident began when she attempted to exit the vehicle due to the suspect driving under the influence. The suspect allegedly pulled her back into the vehicle by her hair, grabbed her by the wrist, placed his knee on her, and slapped her in the face with an open hand.

The woman also stated the suspect had assaulted her in the past.

Officers interviewed the male suspect, who was read his Miranda rights. He denied hitting the woman or pulling her hair, admitting only to an argument about accusations of infidelity. When asked how they arrived in La Porte, the suspect stated he “just began driving.”

La Porte officers contacted the Harris County Constable’s Office in Precinct 6, but they declined to respond to the scene. Officers then contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which accepted a charge of Felony Family Violence Assault – One Prior Conviction. The suspect was taken into custody.
