La Marque Couple Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse and Failure to Report Charges

Following a La Marque Police Department (LMPD) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigation that began in February 2025, the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges against a La Marque couple for alleged child sexual abuse and failure to report.

A warrant was issued for Chad Sternes for Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous, with a bond set at $200,000. The investigation also revealed that the alleged assault went unreported, leading the Galveston County District Attorney to accept a charge of Fail to Report Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child against Danielle Sterns, with a bond of $7,500.00.

On April 10th, 2025, the LMPD Crime Suppression Unit located and apprehended both Danielle and Chad Sterns, and they were taken into custody.
