Knife-Wielding Suspect Fatally Shot by Police After Robbery, Pursuit in Stafford

A man armed with a large kitchen knife was fatally shot by police on Sunday, July 6, 2025, following a reported robbery and foot pursuit through a Stafford neighborhood.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., Stafford Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Avenue E after receiving reports of a male suspect brandishing a large knife. Additional 911 calls reported the man crossing FM 1092 and later robbing a woman at the 7-Eleven store located at 2919 North Main Street. The suspect was described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and a white shirt.

Officers located the suspect near Avenue E and Shady Brook Drive. Upon making contact, the man fled on foot, initiating a pursuit. During the chase, the suspect reportedly charged officers while armed with a knife and a brick.

A Taser was deployed but proved ineffective. A second officer fired their weapon, striking the suspect. Officers administered emergency aid, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as 30-year-old Miftau Oladipo.

The Stafford Police Department is conducting the investigation in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
