Katy Police Department Celebrates Appointment of New Police Chief

The Katy Police Department announced the appointment of Chief Woytek as the new Chief of Police during the city council meeting on the evening of December 9, 2024.

Chief Woytek, who has served with the department for 30 years, previously held the position of Patrol Captain before assuming the role of Chief. The appointment was celebrated in a ceremony attended by family, friends, command staff, officers, former police chiefs, mayors, and Katy residents.

The department expressed gratitude to Mayor Dusty Thiele, City Administrator Byron Hebert, and the City Council for their support during the transition.
