K9 Officer Captures Walmart Thief in Tomball, Threatened Employee with Crowbar

TOMBALL, Texas — A theft investigation at a Walmart in northwest Harris County escalated into a vehicle pursuit and K-9 capture after a suspect accused of stealing multiple Xbox gaming systems fled deputies, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

The incident began when Corporal Barcenas was patrolling the Walmart parking lot at 22605 SH-249 and was flagged down regarding an in-progress theft.

Deputies attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle, but authorities said the driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit.

The vehicle was eventually stopped, but the suspect ran on foot, according to investigators.

Constable K-9 Rambo, handled by Deputy Tom Ramsey, was deployed and apprehended the suspect without further incident.

Authorities said the investigation revealed the suspect was attempting to steal multiple Xbox gaming systems and allegedly threatened a Walmart employee with a crowbar when confronted inside the store.

Investigators also discovered the suspect had active warrants out of Broward County, Florida, for robbery and violation of a protective order.

The suspect remains in custody and faces multiple charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
