The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office successfully shut down an illegal game room operating in the 1300 block of TX-332 in Lake Jackson on June 25, 2025. The operation resulted in two arrests and the seizure of cash and gaming machines.

Deputies initiated the investigation after receiving reports that the business was operating without the required county permit. During the enforcement action, Andrea Aguillon, 22, of Freeport, and Shilu Patel, 54, of Rosharon, were arrested and charged with operating a game room without a permit, a Class A misdemeanor. Both were booked into the Brazoria County Jail on $5,000 bonds.

Investigators also secured a search warrant for the property, which led to the seizure of 63 gaming machines and over $13,000 in cash.

The Brazoria County Game Room Ordinance requires game rooms to be permitted through the county and adhere to various legal and safety standards. The ordinance was updated in 2024 by the Brazoria County Commissioner’s Court to bolster enforcement and ensure responsible and safe business operations.

“We enforce the law equally, no matter who you are,” said Sheriff Bo Stallman. “If a business is operating illegally, it will be shut down. These rules are in place to protect the community, and we’re committed to making sure everyone in our great county is safe.”

The Sheriff’s Office encourages all business owners to review permitting requirements and comply with state and local laws. Community members with concerns about potential illegal operations are urged to report them directly to the Sheriff’s Office.
