Ice Cream Truck Crashes Into Retention Pond at Humble Gas Station

HUMBLE, Texas — A Blue Bell ice cream truck crashed into a retention pond at a gas station in Humble on Thursday, prompting an emergency response, officials said.
Harris County Constable deputies responded to the 21700 block of Aldine Westfield Road at a Chevron gas station, also known as Prime Spot, after reports of a single-vehicle accident.
Authorities said the truck struck a gate at the gas station before falling into a large hole on the property, identified as a retention pond.
The Spring Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene for reported injuries. The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
A heavy-duty wrecker was requested to remove the vehicle from the pond.
Officials said it remains unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the truck or whether a medical emergency may have contributed to the crash.
